Remove dough from a dishcloth – what really helps

If you pick up dough residue with a conventional dishcloth, you know the problem: the dough gets stuck between the fibres and is often difficult to wash out again. Sticky bread, sourdough or pizza dough in particular can quickly make a normal cloth impractical.

Why does dough get stuck in a dishcloth?

Wet dough is sticky and can penetrate deep into dense fabric. If the cloth is then rinsed with warm water, starch- and protein-containing residues can spread further.

How to get dough residue out of a dishcloth

  1. First remove larger pieces of dough mechanically wherever possible.
  2. Rinse the cloth thoroughly with cold to lukewarm water first.
  3. Carefully loosen firmly embedded residue from the fabric.
  4. Then wash the cloth according to its care instructions.

Why an open mesh structure is practical for dough residue

Teiger® is not a conventional densely woven dishcloth. Its open, single-layer mesh structure was developed especially for mechanically removing dough residue. This means residue is less able to become deeply embedded in dense fibres.

Teiger® is reusable, dishwasher-safe and washable up to 60 °C. The cleaning cloth is made in Germany and tested according to OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100.

Typical uses

The dough cleaning cloth is particularly suitable for dough bowls, dough hooks, baking tins, kitchen machines and work surfaces, as well as many other cleaning tasks in the kitchen and home.
