Clean dough hooks – easily remove dough residue

After kneading, dough residue often remains stuck to the dough hook. Bread, pizza or sourdough in particular can wrap stubbornly around it.

With the right approach, however, the dough hook can quickly be cleaned again.

Why does dough stick to the dough hook?

During kneading, the dough is constantly moved and stretched. This often causes it to wrap tightly around the dough hook.

If the dough dries, it can form a hard layer.

How to clean a dough hook properly

1. Remove coarse dough residue

First remove larger pieces of dough with a dough scraper or by hand.

2. Rinse the dough hook with water

Rinse the dough hook with cold or lukewarm water.

3. Loosen dough residue mechanically

The Teiger® dough cleaning cloth can be used to loosen the remaining dough residue from the dough hook.

The open mesh structure grips the dough residue and removes it from the surface.

Dried-on dough residue on the dough hook

If the dough has already dried, first moisten the dough hook briefly.

The firm layer of dough can then be loosened mechanically.
