Clean a stand mixer – remove dough residue from bowl & tools
When kneading bread, pizza or sourdough, sticky residue often remains on stand mixers – especially on the bowl, dough hook and mixing tools. With a sensible sequence, the stand mixer is easier to clean after kneading dough.
Before cleaning: switch off the appliance
Unplug the appliance before manual cleaning and follow the manufacturer's safety and care instructions. Electrical components must not be cleaned with water. Removable parts should be cleaned separately according to the manufacturer's instructions.
Remove coarse dough residue first
First pick up larger amounts of dough with a suitable dough scraper. This prevents spreading as much dough during subsequent cleaning and lets you work on the bowl and tools more precisely.
Remove dough residue from the dough hook
Dough particularly likes to stick to curves and transitions on the dough hook. Loosen residue with water and then remove it mechanically. Detailed instructions are available under Clean dough hooks.
Clean the mixing and dough bowl
Dough also often remains on the bottom and rim of the bowl. Scrape off coarse residue, moisten dried-on areas and then clean. More details are available under Clean dough and mixing bowls.
Teiger® for removable baking utensils
Teiger® was specially developed for sticky dough residue. Its open, single-layer mesh structure supports mechanical cleaning and is easy to rinse afterwards. Use it only on suitable washable parts and always follow your appliance manufacturer's instructions.
Remove dried-on dough
First loosen already dried dough residue with water. After a short contact time, it can often be removed more easily. For sensitive or unfamiliar materials, test carefully on an inconspicuous area.
Clean Teiger® afterwards
Rinse loosened dough residue from the mesh structure under running water. Teiger® is reusable and dishwasher-safe for more thorough cleaning.
