Clean a casserole dish – remove burnt-on food more easily

Lasagne, gratins and other oven dishes often leave firmly stuck edges, grease and burnt-on food residue in casserole dishes. Cleaning can be laborious, especially in corners and curves. By soaking and using flexible mechanical cleaning, a casserole dish can often be cleaned more easily.

Allow the casserole dish to cool first

Let the dish cool completely. Also follow the manufacturer's care instructions, as glass, ceramic, stainless steel and coated materials may have different cleaning requirements.

Soak burnt-on residue

Fill the cooled dish with warm water and allow firmly stuck food residue to soften. This helps dried edges and crusts loosen more easily.

Clean corners, edges and curves

After soaking, remove loosened residue with a suitable cleaning aid. A flexible cloth is practical because it adapts to corners, curves and the transition between the base and side wall.
