Make pizza at home: practical helpers for dough & kitchen

Making pizza at home starts with just a few ingredients – and often ends with sticky dough on your hands, bowl, worktop and tools. With the right basic equipment, shaping pizza dough becomes easier, and so does cleaning up afterwards.

What do you need for making pizza?

To get started, a large bowl, scales, a suitable work surface and a baking tray, pizza steel or pizza stone are enough. A flexible dough scraper and some flour for dusting are also particularly useful.

Portioning and shaping dough

A dough scraper helps release soft pizza dough from the bowl, divide it and work it on the surface. A small flour sieve can help dust the worktop evenly. You can find more ideas in our guide to practical kitchen helpers.

And after making pizza?

Pizza dough in particular can stick stubbornly to bowls, dough hooks and utensils. This is where the Teiger® cleaning cloth comes in: its open mesh structure is practical for fresh and dried dough residue and can then be rinsed out easily.

A practical combination for pizza fans

If you want to work dough, dust surfaces and clean up afterwards, our Teiger® bundle range offers combinations of cleaning cloth, dough scraper and fine sieve.

More cleaning tips after baking are available in the Teiger® guide. If you also bake sourdough, see our practical ideas for sourdough fans.
